Loren Jones - Dance Instructor
Two left feet? In his world there’s no such thing as two left feet. It’s just finding the right beat to get that right foot moving! Nicknamed “Boogie” by his peers, Mr. Loren has always been known for his dancing prowess and his fearlessness to bust a move in any crowd. Hip hop has been his playground since the young age of 4 and three decades later, those feet still know how to groove to a beat. In high school, Loren started a step team with a group of friends and went on to perform across the city at various events. Upon graduating, Loren returned to teach the class he helped build and give others the platform to dance in the same capacity as he did. After some time away, he decided to strap us his laces again to teach another generation of youth the various styles of hip hop dance. No matter the kid, he is 100% sure that he can find a way to connect and provide a passion and sense of self. He fuses both street and technical hip hop with a flair for finding ways to blend hip hop into other genres of music to provide a unique style. Pushing the bounds of where hip can go has always been his recipe for success and he doesn’t plan to slow down anytime soon. Now as a father of 5, he still extends his time to teach youth about creating a voice through the arts with hip hop remaining his area of expertise. With his eternal connection to music, the perfect blend of sound and step is always put to display. Each and every year, his goal is to teach at least one new student the real meaning of hip hop and how it can integrate into any culture if done with conviction and a fearless approach.
